The wonderful thing about being a wedding planner is that you know exactly where to turn when it comes to your own wedding! I was lucky enough to have some of the best wedding suppliers in Newcastle help me make our small family wedding back in March this year a memorable, magical day.
So, without further ado, here are some of the finer details which made our wedding the special experience it was…
The talented Jennifer Rose of Atelier Rose created my gown with silk beaded georgette fabric sourced from Studio Fabrics in Sydney. In addition to being a skilled dressmaker, Jennifer is also a lovely person who tackles every challenge with patience and understanding. My lovely Groom’s suit was Hugo Boss from Gentlemen’s Outfitters.
My husband is English and I spent a number of years in London, so we couldn’t go past a vintage Black London Cab. Exclusive Vintage Wedding Cars (based in the Hunter Valley) have a stunning selection of vintage vehicles and our driver Peter was ultra professional and attentive.
Our ceremony took place in the Warrior’s Chapel at Christ Church Cathedral, Newcastle with a string duo providing wonderful music. The LED pillar candles lining the aisle were originally sourced from the lovely Abbey of Love and Protect.
I was thrilled to have a fellow Confetti Fair exhibitor, Cheryl of Rosehip Flowers look after the floral elements of our celebration. She’s a fabulous florist and a great new friend! She captured my brief perfectly and is always a pleasure to work with.
We selected the upper level of Paymasters for our intimate reception and it was the perfect location overlooking the foreshore of Newcastle to celebrate with our family and friends. Rodney and his team looked after us wonderfully with beautiful food and great service.
So, when I was looking for White Marquee LOVE Lights to decorate the reception, I knew exactly where to go! Of course I just had to whip out some EventHaus props for my wedding and our new white sign was the perfect contrast for the dark hues in the art deco inspired venue interior.
When it came to the cake, Hello Naomi was the obvious choice. This sweet lady is one talented baker and her simple style and delicious flavours have made her the cake superstar she is today. Custom cake topper from Etsy.
My husband and I decided we couldn’t possibly get married without our furry four-legged children being involved. So my little Instagram superstars Ruby and Saffy came to the church for family photos after the ceremony. Despite Ruby and Saffy being female, we decided that they were really bow-tie kinda gals, so I am pleased to report that Ruby and Saffy were dressed by Fashion Houndz!
The lovely Lisa Fowler kindly provided hair and makeup. Lisa is organised, helpful and generally a very nice lady to have around while you get ready on your wedding day!
We are lucky to call a very skilled and creative master goldsmith our friend. Karo Rainer‘s designs are to die for and she crafted our rings to perfection. She also does amazing remodelling if you have any old jewellery sitting around gathering dust!
And last, but most certainly not least, big thanks to the talented James Bennett who is responsible for documenting our day with his unique eye for artistic detail. If you’ve seen James’ work, you know you’re in for something special with him behind the camera. We had great fun working with James and his lovely partner Jen on both our pre-wedding shoot and wedding day. I’m fairly sure he is the only person who could convince me to traipse through all sorts of wilderness and creepy crawlies…because I knew the end result was going to be spectacular, and it was!
A very big thank you to everyone involved in our wedding. A day of laughter, happiness and love…and one we will always treasure.
