An Event Manager herself, there was no doubt in my mind Amy’s wedding was going to be something special. Although I’m no longer planning events, having spent more than 12 years delivering everything from corporate events to weddings, let’s just say I was pretty darn excited when I received Amy’s floor plan and bump-in schedule – I guess it’s true what they say…’once an event manager, always an event manager’! (Actually, I have no idea if anyone says that?)
A tight turnaround between events, found me busily setting up our marquee lights surrounded by a constant stream of venue staff and other wonderful suppliers doing their thing around me. It wasn’t until I stood back for a final check and took in everything that had speedily materialised around me that I knew I was right – Amy had planned a simply stunning reception! Simple whites with splashes of sparkly silver, ghost chairs, chic florals – contemporary and fun. Then, when I saw the bridesmaids approaching in their fabulous gowns, each carrying giant white balloons with silver mylar tassel garlands as I drove away from the venue, I almost wanted to turn back and ask to join the party! (Yes, I am a sparkle/sequin junkie. I mean, who isn’t right?)
Sergeants Mess was the location for Amy + Michael’s reception and it’s one of our fave Sydney wedding spots. Fab views, elegant interiors and helpful staff. The beautiful bride selected two Karen Willis Holmes gowns for the day – both exquisite and the groom and groomsmen all looked suitably dashing! We were thrilled to have our marquee lights play a little part in this gorgeous celebration.
Talented photographer Zoe Morley has captured the day beautifully – just check out the images below!
What a gorgeous couple! We wish Amy + Michael a very happy future.
